Let Lori Galvin, Certified Animal Massage and Acupressure Practitioner Enhance the Physical, Mental, and Emotional Well-Being of Your Pet

Mobile Animal Massage was founded by Lori Galvin, ECMT, AAT. Lori has always had a strong connection to animals and a special gift for communicating and empathizing with them. She grew up with a houseful of pets and explored the natural wonders of the Upper Newport Bay with her beautiful Quarter Horse, Lady, strengthening her unique bond with animals and nature. Lori taught Horsemanship for Girls Scouts of America and also competed in Frisbee competitions with her beloved Cattle Dog, Kahlua. After Kahlua experienced a leg injury training for a competition, Lori had a vision of creating a complete, holistic massage experience for animals that would heal their bodies, minds, and spirits.

In her spare time Lori volunteers for Hanaeleh Horse Rescue (www.Hanaeleh.com), Rat Terrier ResQ (www.RatTerrierResq.com), and at pet events statewide. She also enjoys trips to Huntington Beach Dog Beach (www.DogBeach.org) with her husband and three dogs Sami, Jake, and Roxy.

My animal massage service is lovingly dedicated to all of the animals, living and passed,
who have touched my life. Especially my Sweet Bob Dog, and
Kahlua, my Spirit Dog. They are my light and my inspiration.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), has been around for over 3500 years, withstanding the test of time in safety and efficacy. TCM is all about balance, harmony, and wholeness of the mind, body, and spirit to create wellness.

Massage facilitates natural pain relief through endorphin release and improving circulation of blood, lymph, nutrients, and oxygen to the tissues. Massage employs techniques such as light friction, gentle kneading, and tapping. It can be combined with acupressure and reiki or used alone, and treatments are customized for each animal’s needs. It can help animals on a wide range of issues, but is especially helpful for muscular and skeletal issues such as muscle atrophy or tightness, injury rehabilitation, paralysis, and arthritis.

Acupressure promotes health by assisting the body to achieve an harmonious state of balance.   Acupressure (with fingertips or thumb) stimulates or sedates points lying along energy pathways called meridians. Qi or Chi (Life Energy) flows through these interconnected channels, transporting healing properties throughout the body. Treating the correct acupoints balances Chi, allowing the body to heal itself by relieving or preventing blockages and excesses that can cause pain and dis-ease. No needles are used, only gentle pressure, which can be adjusted as the animal responds to the treatment.

Acupressure
can help with both chronic and short term physical and behavioral imbalances. Acute situations such as post-surgical rehabilitation can benefit from a short series of treatments. Chronic problems such as arthritis are best served by an extended series of treatments because the goal is to help the body rebalance itself for lasting vitality. Regular treatments are also wonderful for prevention, so your animal can benefit from acupressure before a health crisis.

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is an energetic healing method that is non-invasive and relaxing for animals. Reiki is gentle energy healing that originated in Japan, and yields powerful results for the body, mind and spirit. The energy is channeled through the practitioner’s hands, either directly or from a distance. It is ideal to use with animals because they control the treatment, accepting only what they need. The deep relaxation that results allows the animal's body to begin to heal itself.

Reiki can be done in-person or at a distance, as it does not require hands-on contact to be effective, so Reiki sessions can be scheduled as part of an in-home visit, or as a distance session in which  Reiki is sent to your animal long distance. Distance sessions can provide owners a time to set their own intention for their animal’s wellbeing, and to relax and feel their own positive healing thoughts for their animal while Reiki is being sent.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils extracted and distilled from the roots, flowers, and leaves of plants to promote health. It can be administered through acupoints or by inhalation. Essential oils may be used alone, but can be  especially effective when used in conjunction with massage, acupressure and Reiki.
